ENGEO employees enjoyed giving back for the holiday season. For the third straight year, ENGEO employees have adopted a family for the holiday season. Through the Volunteers of America Greater Sacramento & Northern Nevada Adopt-A-Family Holiday program and the generous donations of our employees, we helped a struggling family of five enjoy a wonderful Christmas.
Although 2009 was challenging for many of us and our families, it had been an especially difficult year for those families who are less fortunate. With the spirit of giving in mind, we asked one another to give—by planning, shopping during their lunch breaks, donating wrapping paper and bows, or money. Both current and former ENGEO employees came together, pitched in, and helped this family avoid a dismal holiday experience.
Once all of the gifts were purchased, we celebrated with an after-hours gift-wrapping holiday party to celebrate the fact that this year a mom, a dad, and their three boys will be able to participate in a Christmas celebration.
ENGEO’s giving continued with food donations to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, with toy gift donations to the Salvation Army, and with a non-perishable food collection (for both people in need and their pets) during the week of its annual holiday party.
