Congratulations to all the winners of the California Geotechnical Engineering Association (CalGeo) Awards! We’re delighted to announce that the ENGEO team has won the CalGeo Outstanding Project Awards in two categories for two remarkable projects.
This year, Chris Stouffer, PE, Stefanos Papadopulos, PE, GE, Mark Gilbert, PE, GE, QSD, and Pedro Espinosa, PE, GE, attended the CalGeo Project Awards Luncheon at the CalGeo Annual Conference in San Francisco on Friday, April 11th, to represent ENGEO and to receive the awards.
“Winning the CalGeo 2024 Outstanding Project Awards is a significant milestone for ENGEO. I am proud of our team’s relentless pursuit of excellence and the strong relationships we have built with our clients. These awards are a celebration of our collective efforts and the positive impact we have made through our projects. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of this journey,“ says Stefanos Papadopulos, PE, GE.
We are honored to receive the following awards:
ENGEO played a crucial role in the Isle House project by conducting geotechnical explorations, foundation design, and site-specific hazard analysis. During construction, ENGEO worked in cooperation with Webcor, the general contractor, and performed geotechnical observation and special inspections during pile installation and shoring construction.

ENGEO prepared the geotechnical report for design of the project and also performed deep downhole infiltration testing. The infiltration data was critical for developing a strategic and compact stormwater treatment system that would fit within the already-designed project infrastructure. Combined with below-grade modular concrete vaults, the use of deep (55 feet maximum), large-diameter (6 feet) drywells is the first of its kind in the region. This allowed the project to move forward without changing the land plan and without delaying construction.
