ENGEO has led the implementation and monitoring of the Blackhawk Geologic Hazard Abatement District (GHAD) since the mid-1980s. It was one of the first GHADs in Northern California and also the first to be applied to a new residential development.
ENGEO has provided on-going monitoring services for this GHAD in accordance with the Plan of Control. We have provided extensive engineering, geologic consultation and numerous repair recommendations; the development of instrumentation monitoring and bi-annual reconnaissance to observe and report the general conditions of the slopes adjacent to the development; assessment of conditions of site drainage in the open space and common areas; preventive maintenance and operations; initial incident response and evaluation; data collection and maintenance of GHAD weather station; and general consultation on landslide and erosion hazards, analysis and mitigation schemes.
