As the geotechnical-engineer-of-record, ENGEO is providing geotechnical engineering consultation services for this affordable housing project. The project consists of replacing 606 existing public housing units with the development of 200 affordable housing rental units and 300 market-rate-for-sale units. The site will include new public infrastructure such as streets, sidewalks and utilities, as well as additional community amenities such as open space, childcare facilities, office space for social services, and recreational facilities.
ENGEO evaluated the geotechnical and geologic conditions within the planned redevelopment areas, provided grading and foundation design, and provided construction support for the high–density residential buildings and infrastructure. We are also working with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) to monitor naturally occurring asbestos found in the soil and bedrock to notify and maintain construction impact.
